Barjo&Cie
Disciplines
Barthélémy Manias and Johann Fourrière met during their training within the Coline company in Istres. Since then, they have danced in several projects across Europe. In 2016, they founded Barjo&Cie, for which they are the project-leading choreographers.
For over twenty years, their complicity has grown with them. They see the company as an artistic duo in which each has their own free space for expression. Their favorite theme is communication between individuals. They love to create a dance that appears simple but reveals itself to be precise, playing with narration and physical theater.
They dedicate themselves to the creation of choreographic works for young audiences. They blend theater and dance lightly in a colorful visual universe, tinged with pop culture. They like to appropriate so-called "mass" culture and put it on stage to take the viewer elsewhere and especially further.
Barjo&Cie is a member of ASSITEJ Belgium, RAC, and CTEJ.
In addition to its creative work, Barjo&Cie conducts workshops in schools for kindergarten classes, as part of the "culture has class" and PECA projects.
