Ikue Nakagawa

Ikue NAKAGAWA is a choreographer, dancer, actress, and illustrator, based in Brussels.
Born in Japan, she studied at the Osaka University of Arts, then continued her training in France at the CDC Toulouse. As a dancer, she has worked with choreographers Frank Micheletti (Koko Doko, Mondes Monde, Coupures, Archipelago, Tiger Tiger Burning Bright) and Eun Yong Lee. As an actress, she has worked with director Pascal Rambert (To Lose, All Life, Before You Return, Libido Sciendi). She also collaborates with Jean-Frédéric Chevalier (Aboad, Typology of Unexpectedness), Lorenzo De Angelis (HALTEROPHILE, Nobody), Brune Campos (HERE, KOKOKARA//FROM HERE). She began her personal choreographic work in 2018 with a trio for Indian dancers "Yuten" at the Night of Theatre festival in India. In 2021, she created the solo "NAKAMI" at the Teatro Pradillo in Madrid, then continued with another solo, "TAMANEGI", created at the Brigittines in 2022. Each of her projects originates from her drawing work.
Since 2024 Ikue Nakagawa has been supported by Grand Studio. Ikue Nakagawa is currently working on a new project: KUROKO, which is scheduled for creation in 2025.
