SEQUENZA CIE
Disciplines
Sequenza Cie is a theatre-movement company. We have produced twelve shows, nine of which are aimed at a young audience. The company was created to develop projects aimed at using the tools of theatre, movement, and dance for a better understanding of the concepts of exchange.
We believe that the tools of theatre and movement allow spectators/participants to increase their ability to testify to their experiences and to approach current topics without fear of opening a debate, to untie tongues, to crush preconceived ideas (in class, at home, or in the playground). Through our shows, we question our prejudices and representations. It is essential for us to offer the audience - elementary school children and teenagers - poetic situations that do not allow for simple and stereotyped answers.
The question of otherness is essential in our work. We believe that theatre is the place that best defines responsibility to the other. Questions related to connection, the need for belonging, and responsibility have underpinned the construction of the company's projects.
Sequenza received recognition as a cultural operator in 2004. It benefits from the valuable support of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, General Service of Artistic Creation - Theatre Direction. It benefits from a contract of trust as well as access to the Show at School program and the Art & Life Tours piloted by the FWB's Diffusion service.
The team is composed of Sandrine Clark, Caroline Donnelly, Xavier Lauwers, Nathalie Dassonville & Loris Liberale.
