The latest news from the Company:
- December 2024: creation of the show I CATCH FIRE TOO OFTEN at the Turbulences festival, at the Théâtre de Namur.
Founded in 2006 by Caroline Cornélis, the company's project is to bring contemporary dance to a young audience, through a body language that is invested, committed, and poetic. Starting from the real, the familiar, the tangible, it invites the spectator to travel in a universe of sensations. It's an ambitious project that involves reinventing forms in contact with the child and his universe.
Impacted and influenced by the world of childhood, Caroline Cornélis draws inspiration from it, feeds on their vision of the world and their imaginary imprints, their unique nature. It is clear that the child spectator, in turn, recognizes himself in what he sees, perceives and finds the paths to discover and appropriate a contemporary language. While starting from specificities related to work towards a young audience, Caroline Cornélis also wishes to take into account and consider the adult accompanying them. Whether they are parents or teachers, it seems essential to her that the adult feels invested, touched, concerned by what they see. It is they who will have this essential role, this responsibility of "transmitter", of "connector" and who will invite the child to invest in this common cultural heritage.
The company today has just finished creating its sixth show and has been enriched by strong artistic collaborations that are committed to the long term (a lighting designer, a musician, a visual artist, choreographic accomplices, as well as a philosopher for children, to explore this dialogue between body language and thought). A precious entourage that allows the company to evolve its research and reinvent itself.
