Compagnie des Mutants

Founded in 1983, the Mutants Company is primarily dedicated to children's theatre.
This choice is not random... Indeed, for children, theatre is an excellent means of aesthetic education and personality enrichment.
It stimulates thought, questioning, and can awaken the interest of the child least integrated into the school system.

If we want the adults of tomorrow to be conscious and open to the world, we must prepare the new generation today.
Thanks to our "small form" shows, we also invest in schools, privileged places to reach the greatest number of children, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our priorities are to offer children subjects that challenge us as much as them.
We address themes that revolt us, such as world hunger and, closer to us, the issue of the new poor.
We denounce human stupidity regarding the future of our planet. Human stupidity and its frantic race for power.

We do not hesitate to talk to them about life, death, the fear of the future and the antagonistic forces that tear us apart such as reason and instinct.

We trust in children's ability to go beyond the anecdotal level of the stories told.
We lead them to seek meaning in the show that cultivates metaphor rather than the first degree of figurative realism.
We offer them quality theatre, which refuses watered-down forms, infantilizing contents and moralizing discourses,
both for "small form" shows and for larger productions. For those who know us,
these themes are always treated with poetry, humor and offset. This is indeed our trademark.
Finally, beyond the theme, a message, we want to communicate to our audience the pleasure of theatrical play,
... our pleasure!
