Héloïse Ravet
Disciplines
Héloïse Ravet is a young director, based in Brussels.
After studying philosophy, she decided to turn to directing because theatre seemed to her the most concrete and poetic way to physically resonate the concepts she encountered and loved during her studies.
In 2018, she directed and wrote Le Gigot, a play for 3 actors that was performed as part of the Courants d’Air Festival.
Since 2019, she has been working as a dramaturge on ongoing projects by Coline Struyf, Olivier Boudon, and Leïla
Devin. She assisted Guillemette Laurent on the show Dressing Room, which was created at the Varia Theatre in the fall of 2020, and then again in February 2022.
Graduating from INSAS in 2020, she left with the intention of developing an artistic and dramaturgical project over several years, through different forms of creation. In Outrage for Good Fortune (premiere November 2022), she wants to explore the idea that stage materials are similar to pigments and that her theatre is a line of bodily escape, a perspective of colors and bodies that one can penetrate as a spectator. In Larrons in Blue Sneakers (premiere March 2022), she undertakes a poetic study of failure and weakness as a powerful political engine against a society that always demands more results and success.
In parallel with these works, she proposes a research on the creation of quick and free expression, outside of theatre halls and current production times, to assert that the sketch, the draft, are necessary and salvific theatrical forms for young artists.
