Disciplines
Pierre Larauza and Emmanuelle Vincent established the duo t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e in 2003 in Hong Kong, with the ambition of creating a dialogue between dance and visual arts. Settled in Brussels in 2004, they travelled from Europe to Asia via Africa, invited to numerous international festivals. A trajectory that led them to present their in-situ projects on stage, in public spaces, in museums or galleries.
Over the course of their choreographic creations, their roles have intersected to nourish a common multidisciplinary approach: as choreographers and visual artists, they explore movement in hybrid forms where the scenographic device holds a privileged place. Questioning the permeability of disciplinary boundaries, their projects have been broadcast in more than twenty-five countries on five continents. Pierre and Emmanuelle blur the lines, shake up genres, break the codes to rethink the notion of spectatorship.
Associated artists with the Halles de Schaerbeek between 2021 and 2024, they developed with the project "An Anatomy of Movements" a vast exploration of the territory through choreographic and human portraits. The duo also runs the dance school La Confiserie and has led a bilateral cooperation project in Vietnam with the visual artist Thy Nguyen Truong Minh, the Ecole de Recherche Graphique de Bruxelles and the University of Fine Arts of Ho Chi Minh City.
The duo t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e has been contract-programmed since 2018 and is supported by the Federation Wallonia-Brussels Dance Service, the Municipality of Ixelles and the Cocof.
